I was lucky enough to start my Hairdressing apprenticeship, working for a chain of 3 salons in May 1995. I was mainly based in their busy Sydney city salon, also working in the Glebe & North Sydney salon on occasions. This would encourage me to use different styles of hairdressing and techniques as the clientele would vary. In September 1995, I completed the Joico Hair Repair System, then in October 1995, the Joico product knowledge class. Then in January 1997, I began working in Manly for another busy salon, where I completed my certificate in Hairdressing (Tafe Trade) in July 1997. While working in Manly, I also
got the pleasure in working at Hair Expo in 1998 and 1999 for Smack Cosmetology,
competing my hairdressing certificate in 1999 where I went onto doing an Upstyle
course, Up Up And Away, for weddings and formals, was interviewed for the Hairdressing
industry Magazine, Instyle, as a 4th year apprentice in the March/April issue
in 1999. From 2003-2004, I managed a salon on the Northern Beaches, that belonged to a chain of salons. I was promoted to Travelling Manager, managing 5 salons, until 2005. In July 2007 I decided to start my own business, and combining my joy of my industry and my passion of travelling, I started my business as a mobile hairdresser. My business has grown faster than I could imagine, and I love going to work every day that is a bonus. My business offers services that is ideal for people who work long hours, stay at home mums, families, people who may finds it hard to get out of the house, or people who just don't want to sit in a salon all day. Hope to meet you soon in your
place! Yolanda |
